NORWOOD, MA (June 8, 2011) – President and Founder of Village Auto Group Ray Ciccolo was recently honored as the intro speaker for the keynote address delivered by Captain Sully Sullenberger at the 2011 NADA Convention. Sullenberger is famous for successfully ditch landing US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River off Manhattan, NYC on January 15, 2009.
Ciccolo delivered an inspirational speech about growing up in Cambridge, his start in the automotive business, and his current philanthropic efforts. “Being a successful company these days means giving back to our communities and being a good corporate citizen. We care about future generations. We are in this for the long haul and we care about more than our bottom line,” says Ciccolo.
For close to 50 years, The Village Automotive Group has been a leader in the automotive marketplace in the Greater Boston area. Our success has been built upon the support of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. In turn, we strive to make The Village a good place to work, a responsible neighbor in our communities, and to provide a positive impact to the local economy.
A successful company means only growing our business and creating jobs, but also giving back. We focus on 5 areas when considering Corporate Social Responsibility:
Customers: We strive to create an environment for our customers of comfort, trust and respect. We seek to provide them quality service, to treat them like we would like to be treated, and to constantly provide value for them so that they continue to choose to do business with us. By acting via an overriding culture of corporate responsibility - within a framework of social and environmental values – we hope that our customers will see that our values correlate with their own.
Employees: Our success flows from the philosophy of our owner and President Ray Ciccolo, who believes that a successful retail business starts with satisfied employees. By creating a family environment where people enjoy going to work, our employees feel emboldened to provide quality service that often goes above and beyond.
The Village currently employs more than 400 people. We strive to make The Village a good place to work, we appreciate the talent and experience of our people, we embrace cultural diversity and inclusion in our workforce, and we continue to promote primarily from within.
We provide competitive wages and benefits, medical and dental insurance, training and tuition reimbursement for career improvement, a 401k Plan with company match, discounts for automotive purchases, wellness programs, and more. We take pride in the safety of our workplaces, and we repeatedly train to ensure continued compliance.
Environment: going green has two major benefits – we reduce our impact upon the environment, and we save on the cost of energy. Each of our locations has taken basic steps such as switching to energy efficient bulbs, and we recycle tires and motor oil and scrap metal from our shops. Some stores have also reduced their energy consumption by installing high-speed garage doors, adding reflective elements to exterior windows, replacing light switches with auto on/off sensors, adding hands-free faucets and hand-dryers, and more. As we grow and renovate and build new facilities, going green is always at the forefront of our design decisions.
Community: our businesses are an integral part of the communities in which we operate. Not only do we provide important automotive services to the community, but we also seek to be a responsible and concerned corporate citizen. You see The Village active in myriad causes, including the Arts, Education, Health, Humanitarian causes and more. Many of these efforts are brought to us by our Employees, who are encouraged to bring their ideas and concerns forward.
Suppliers: we try to seek out suppliers and vendors who mirror our concept of Corporate Social Responsibility.

NORWOOD, MA (May 30, 2011) – Cadillac Village of Norwood announces the integration of RealDeal,SM “The Pre-Owned Price Check,” an innovative price validation and delivery system powered by vAuto to their already extensive use of the latest technologies in the automotive business.
vAuto’s RealDeal system provides dealership personnel with the technology to quote prices and offer detailed documentation on the prices and attributes of identically equipped competing vehicles. Providing proof of a fair price will help to minimize or eliminate negotiation while increasing margins, closing more deals and improving overall customer satisfaction. With RealDeal, dealers can market themselves in the showroom, on the phone, and over the Internet as being fair price - or even as price leaders - and effectively defend their assertions.
“Documentation is the new negotiation when it comes to used car sales,” said Dale Pollak, vAuto’s chairman and founder. “RealDeal gives dealers a powerful way to prove their pricing to shoppers, and when shoppers feel confident with their price, more deals are closed. It is an innovation that will profoundly change the way used vehicles are sold across the country.”
RealDeal is available to dealers that utilize vAuto’s industry-leading Live Market suite of tools, including the Stocking, Appraising, Pricing and Merchandising modules. The RealDeal system allows dealers to select the appropriate criteria for performing price checks including geographical distance, make, model, color, mileage, specific equipment, and trim. Dealers can then offer RealDeal to customers in several ways, including guided web tutorials, printable reports, and in online advertising.
Shown for the first time at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Exposition at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando FL (Feb. 13-15), vAuto has also launched www.realdeal.com to provide more information about RealDeal.
“We are very excited to be adding RealDeal to our website and making it available for our customers,” says Chris Fousek, eCommerce Director at Cadillac Village of Norwood. “It's another way for us to help the customer save time when shopping for their used car. By checking out the Real Deal customers will see how the car is priced in the actual market place and will not have to visit additional sites and do even more research. It can also give peace of mind, like a CarFax, the customer can view the report and be confident they are getting a fair price. We are also proud to be taking this step ahead of so many other dealers in the area who do not provide their customers with anything like it.”
The nation’s five highest-volume franchised dealerships by brand currently use vAuto pricing, appraisal, stocking, and merchandising systems. vAuto was recently ranked number 22 in Inc. Magazine’s 2009 annual ranking of the fastest-growing, privately held companies in America. The company’s chairman and founder, Dale Pollak, maintains a blog for the discussion of used-car trends at www.dalepollak.com. More information on vAuto is available at www.vAuto.com.

• CTS sales increase 124 percent with gains by sedan, wagon and coupe
• SRX posts 19th straight month of at least a double-digit percentage year-over-year gain
• Escalade total sales rise 6 percent, retail sales up 27 percent
DETROIT – The Cadillac CTS and SRX posted their best results ever for a February as Cadillac reported total U.S. sales for the month of 15,768, a 70 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Cadillac’s retail sales rose 83 percent for the month.
The results represent Cadillac’s best February total since 2006. It also represents the thirteenth consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases for the brand.
Total sales of the CTS family rose 124 percent to 6,033 in February. The CTS Coupe, introduced for the 2011 model year, had its best month since being launched last August. The CTS Sedan and Wagon also posted strong gains for the month.
The CTS family has become one of the most acclaimed lines in the luxury market. Popular Mechanics named the CTS Coupe one of the Top 10 cars for 2011. The high-performance CTS-V Coupe is a finalist for World Performance Car of the Year, and the CTS-V Wagon was named a 2011 Automobile magazine All-Star.
The SRX luxury crossover, dramatically redesigned for the 2010 model year, also continued its growth. SRX sales rose 55 percent to 5,502 in February. SRX has posted a year-over-year increase of at least a double-digit percentage rate for 19 straight months. Escalade sales rose 6 percent to 2,202 in February.
Cadillac has started the year with a strong push to attract new and returning luxury buyers as the market recovers. In January, Cadillac began its new “Red Blooded Luxury” advertising campaign, featuring the CTS Coupe and high-performance CTS-V Sedan.
In February, Cadillac launched the Cadillac Shield program, which ties together the brand’s suite of ownership benefits. Cadillac Shield includes Cadillac’s four-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranties. It also provides maintenance on many frequently required services for four years or 50,000 miles as well as 24-hour roadside assistance and courtesy vehicle transportation during the powertrain warranty period.
“Cadillac’s success is being driven by great products, clear messaging and a focus on customer service,” said Kurt McNeil, vice president for Cadillac sales and service. “As the luxury market continues to strengthen, Cadillac is attracting customers with a line-up that offers distinctive design and exceptional performance. We’re backing up those vehicles with a long-term commitment to provide our owners with a heightened level of service.”
